I know I often put as the subject line "My name art submission" or something that allows them to search for me quickly should I get them on the phone afterwards. I like reinforcing my name so hopefully as I send more items, they start to recognize me from all the other piles of stuff.karyn servinhttp://www.karynservin.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668465913284912052.post-6185369624721163242010-03-05T12:12:39.578-08:002010-03-05T12:12:39.578-08:00Great information Joan! Just an add-on from a former art director to the Research section: if you do get an opportunity to talk with the art director, be sure to have done your research first so you don't ask for information that is already available on the company's website. You don't want that art director's first impression of you to be just another artist who hasn't done their homework! Most Art Directors are very, very busy and don't have time to educate you about their business -- especially if they haven't seen your artwork yet and don't know if the style or quality is appropriate for their company.Deb Gallagherhttp://www.vocalgreetings.comnoreply@blogger.com
